You name it, laptops, smart phones, tablets, etc. There’s just something about a small screen that’s portable that draws me in. I still have very fond memories of my first monochrome PDA with 2 MB of storage. I also had a really great Windows mobile device, the HP 1910 made by HTC. Back in the day these things were amazing. …but they’ve started accumulating in my house. I need a better lifecycle for getting rid of old things I no longer use. I should note that two of those laptops belong to Red Hat so I don’t have to worry about those and these pictures also don’t include the six desktop systems I have (that’s a whole different problem). In an enterprise or corporate environment this is easy because all you have to do is write a policy and then that’s what everyone follows. Basically lease devices for 3-4 years and at that time (or when the warranty is up) replace them. I think this is harder for me with my personal systems because I grow attached to them. I know that’s silly, but I have the same problem with my guitar gear. If I no longer use something I should probably get rid of it. I just find it harder when I associate fond memories with something. Anyway, the bottom line is I need to get rid of some of this stuff.<\/p>\n
<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mrguitar.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/laptops2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"387\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1286\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mrguitar.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/laptops2.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/mrguitar.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/laptops2-300x113.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mrguitar.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/laptops2-768x290.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
I love mobile devices.
